Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone is an actor and screen writer born in New York, New York. His father immigrated to the United States from Italy and her mother is of Russian descent. He was baptized Catholic. When he was a child, he moved to Washington DC with his family. He is well known for his role as Rocky Balboa in the film “Rocky” and many other well known action films; however, before his breakthrough films, he appeared in the films “No Place To Hide” and ‘Bananas.”
He gained international success after the release of “Rocky” in 1976. Subsequently, he made his debut as a director in the film “Paradise Alley.” Besides “Rocky,” he has also starred in blockbuster hits such as “First Blood.” “Rambo” and all of it’s sequels. In 2003 he appeared in “Spy Kids” as a villain and then reappeared in 2006 with the 6th installment of Rocky Balboa which was a hit. Aside from his acting career, he is a devoted Catholic, although he nearly abandoned his faith during his extensive career. He has been married three times and currently has five kids.
